Expected… But He’s Definitely Doing It Again!
Last week, Mrinal, a key figure at Entertainment & Sports Agency (ESA), embarked on an incredible work trip to Tenerife, the stunning gem of the Canary Islands. With temperatures ranging between 22-24°C, working from this picturesque location was a privilege—but the real challenge lay in balancing work with some of the most exciting and fulfilling experiences of his career.
Tenerife holds a special place in Mrinal’s heart. His first visit was as an 18-year-old, fresh out of A-Levels, when the island was all about parties and fun. However, over the past five years, he has discovered so much more about the island. This time, the trip was about blending venue scouting with activity research, all while taking in the true essence of Tenerife. Every moment outside of “office hours” was packed with enriching experiences that reinforced ESA’s ethos of combining work with adventure.
Here’s what Mrinal experienced during his time on the island and the valuable insights he gained.
Sunset & Stargazing at Mount Teide
At 1,400 meters above sea level, Mrinal witnessed a breathtaking sunset followed by an unforgettable stargazing session. The serene beauty of Mount Teide’s landscape provided the perfect backdrop for inspiration and reflection. For him, moments like these fuel creativity and motivation, offering fresh perspectives that are invaluable in his work.
Takeaway: A change in scenery can reignite passion and spark new ideas—an essential element for creative professionals and entrepreneurs alike.
Golf at Los Lagos (Golf Costa Adeje)
Tenerife’s spectacular golf courses were another highlight of the trip. Mrinal had the unique opportunity to play on a course featuring volcanic black sand bunkers, with Mount Teide as a striking backdrop. However, what made the experience truly special was meeting an Italian couple married for 60 years. Despite the language barrier, they bonded over 9 holes, proving that sports have the power to bring people together.
Takeaway: Work trips should always include opportunities to connect with others—whether personally or professionally.
Snorkelling & Kayaking with Shaka Surf School Tenerife
An adventure on the Atlantic saw Mrinal kayaking for two hours, followed by snorkeling among vibrant sea life. A chance encounter with a fellow Sheffielder and overcoming his initial snorkeling challenges made the experience even more memorable. Exploring beneath the surface of the ocean provided a refreshing perspective—both physically and mentally.
Takeaway: Pushing beyond comfort zones can lead to the most rewarding experiences, both in life and business.

Surfing – The Ultimate Challenge
Surfing proved to be the most challenging yet exhilarating activity of the trip. After 75 minutes of intense effort, Mrinal managed a few precious seconds riding the waves. With the patience and guidance of the Shaka Surf School instructors, he conquered the demanding nature of the sport and is already planning his next attempt.
Takeaway: Whether in business or sports, perseverance and determination are key to success.
Padel in the Mountains with Green Padel
Balancing work with fitness, Mrinal took to the courts with the friendly crowd at Green Padel. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Tenerife’s mountains, padel offered the perfect blend of physical activity and social interaction. Staying active while working remotely was essential, and this session provided a welcome break from long hours behind the laptop.
Although the locals tried their best to convince him to stay longer, duty called, and Mrinal had to return to the UK—but he is already planning his next visit to continue the fun on the courts.
Takeaway: Staying active and social while working remotely enhances productivity and well-being.
